The Food is Medicine Institute builds the evidence, tools, and expertise to make nutritious food a fundamental part of health care — and health equity.
Directed by Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian — a globally recognized cardiologist and nutrition scientist who has authored more than 600 scientific studies — the Institute is home to a team of 20+ specialized experts and collaborates with dozens of leading organizations globally.
Our vision is a world where consumption of nutritious food is recognized as a fundamental component of health and health care, and where all people and communities have the knowledge, resources, and support to achieve optimal health and health equity through nourishing food.
